Flu Vaccine
Flu vaccinations began in early September but it is not too late to receive your shot. Often, flu season can last well into March or April, and the current predictions are that this flu season will be particularly damaging and long lasting due to the lack of a flu season last year. While quarantining is effective, it also introduces our immune systems to fewer interactions or challenges which means that we will have fewer antibodies trained to quickly recognize and defend us.
Flu vaccinations help support our immune system by introducing an inactive (in most cases) form of the influenza virus, allowing our bodies to be trained and antibodies to be built up in order to defend against the virus.
Before the holiday season, vaccinate yourself and your loved ones. The earlier the better, as that allows us more time to form effective antibodies against the virus.
